Obituary of David Lee Christensen

David Lee Christensen "Dave" Born in the Fall of 1950 in Northern California to Karl & Kay Christensen, the forth of eight children. Dave graduated Paraclete High School in Lancaster California in 1969. To cover the cost of tuition he worked after school as a night custodian. He met the love of his life, Sharon, at a Halloween party in 1967. They married in 1971. Dave and Sharon bought their house in Antelope Acres the Spring of 1979 and it has been their home ever since. They raised three children and half the neighborhood in that house over the past 40+ years. Shooting hoops in the driveway and hosting huge pool parties, it has been lovingly dubbed “Camp David”. He was a prominent member of the local community church where he served for years on the board. He was a Sunday school teacher, youth group leader, and drove the bus on Sunday mornings to make sure all the kids in the Acres made it to the church on time. Dave could always be found in the kitchen during church and community potlucks. He supported his family working in the Tile Industry for more than four decades where he mentored and trained countless people. Many of these proteges remain in the tile trade today. Dave was like a father to many and a friend to all. A true Patriarch and man of God. Dave fiercely loved his family. He worked hard his entire life and always put others before himself. Dave is survived by his wife Sharon and children Katie and her husband Cory, Olivia and her husband Michael, Zach and his wife Ashley, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, father-in-law, four sisters and their families. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
