My Dad was always busy. Those of you who knew him knew he could do anything. He refurbished my 1969
Mustang, taught me how to ski on one ski, I got up the first try. He told me I I would have to swim to the beach if I didn’t get up. Also, taught me how to shore start.
Dad loved to talk about his work. He called me a lot to share his work. He would always say “got a minute” then he would proceed tell me a story. I always took time to listen, even though I had heard the story many many times before because I knew there would be a time when I would’ve be able to hear those stories anymore.
Recently he shared a story about his life when his family moved here from Texas. His family of five traveled with another family. Upon arrival, they all lived together in a one bedroom apartment, My grandmother worked at Starkist tuna factory. Dad said the smell was awful, but she never complained.
Dad loved to go deep sea fishing, go to the drag races, water ski, and hunt.
It’s a shame, when we pass, our life passes with us. It is important to keep our memories of them alive..
