Nancy Deal

Obituary of Nancy Ellen Deal

Nancy Ellen Deal passed away on October 27, 2021 at Henry Mayo Hospital in Valencia, California. Her husband Arnold, her children Tom, Margie and Marvin, and her granddaughter Julia were all by her side when she moved from this life to her eternal home in heaven. Nancy loved her family and the Lord with all her heart. She was a prayer warrior whose life of faith set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will continue to influence them throughout their lives. Nancy was born on December 5, 1933 in Daytona Beach, Florida to Richard Thomas (RT) Tucker and Annie Hardin Tucker. As a child she enjoyed playing in the country and visiting her grandparents. She met and married the love of her life, Arnold Deal, when she was just fourteen years old. She roller skated off a curb right into his arms to meet him! They built their marriage on love and commitment and celebrated 73 anniversaries together before Nancy passed away. As a young couple, Arnold and Nancy packed up their belongings in Florida and headed west to California with four-year-old Tommy and infant Margie in tow. They settled in Los Angeles which became their home for many years and is where their youngest son Marvin was born. Nancy was youthful and focused on staying healthy. She roller skated with her grandkids and taught exercise classes at Jack LaLanne Health Club well into her fifties. She and Arnold once rode their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle across the country from California to Florida and back. On her eightieth birthday, to the delight of her family, Nancy appeared on the TV game show Let’s Make a Deal. When Arnold retired in 1985, they sold their home and traveled the country in a motorhome for seven years. Brownsville, Texas near the Gulf of Mexico was one of their favorite places during those adventurous years. They spent their time fishing and even learned how to catch shrimp. While traveling, they made many friends and genuinely enjoyed life together. One of the most special things about Nancy was she often claimed she had six children. Her daughters-in-law and son-in-law say they hit the “in-law-jackpot” because of how loved and accepted they felt from the moment they married into the Deal family. Nancy has always been “Mom” to Karen, Kelly, and Tom Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Richard Thomas (RT) and Annie Tucker, her sister Marjorie Ann Tucker, and brothers Archie Wyatt (Dinky) Tucker and Marvin Lewis Tucker. She is survived by her loving husband Arnold Deal, her children Tom and Karen Deal, Margie and Tom Mattice, and Marvin and Kelly Deal, along with her sister Carolyn Annette Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Amanda and Ben Herrington, Jeff and Beth Deal, Heather and Scot Karpey, Dustin Deal, Benjamin and Claudia Mattice, Julia Mattice, and great-grandchildren Nigel Herrington, Lily Herrington, Aaron Deal, Alaska Mattice, and soon to arrive baby boy Karpey... along with many nieces and nephews. Nancy will be dearly missed but we will see her again because she is now present with her Lord and Savior! 2 Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.” Celebration of Life Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 6, 2021. Location: Valley of Peace Mortuary Chapel, 26841 Reuther Ave, Santa Clarita CA 92351 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foundation For His Ministry, Baja Mission at FFHM.ORG
