Nina Leilani Kamekona passed away on October 05, 2020 with family by her side. During her last days she was with all of her children and as many grandchildren and great grandchildren as possible. She was born on June 15, 1939 in Honolulu, Hawaii. This is where she grew up with her parents Eugen V. Todd and Nina Todd (both Deceased) and little brother, Eugene Todd (deceased). She married my Dad, George Wong Kamekona (Deceased) in 1958 and they are survived by 7 children. George William Kamekona, Debra Nalani Moreno, Susan Leimomi Castellanos, Mark Wayne Kamekona, Robyn Noelani Acosta, Sandi Leilani Zornes, and Peter Ape’ Nicolas Kamekona. 22 Grandchildren and 47 great grandkids and counting. My Mom had many talents. From sewing our clothes and making our Hula costumes for at least 11 years. to teaching school for more then 20 years. She also made time for her Catholic traditions. Where she also taught catechism from my younger years up to just a about 5 years ago when she would travel to a Boys home to Minister Catholic faith. She was definitely one of the Lord’s soldiers all the way up to the end. She spent her last days sharing with us and making sure we knew the importance of faith.
