Obituary of Carrie Lee Ortega

Carrie Lee Ortega was born in Sun Valley, California on December 9th, 1962, she was the 4th child of Wesley and Judy Shirley. She passed away peacefully in hospice care at the age of 61 on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, in Palmdale, California. She is survived by her Four children: Selina Guadiana, Victor Ortega, Veronica Ortega, and her youngest son Alex Ortega. Her legacy lives on through her 9 grandchildren. Devoted to her family, Carrie Ortega was actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren. She enjoyed being around her family and on weekends her joy was spending her day at the soccer park watching her grandkids and nieces and nephews play the sport she loved soccer. Carrie Ortega could be found managing all her grandkid’s soccer teams and becoming a grandma and aunt to all their teammates as the years passed. Additionally, she had a sweet tooth for Reese’s peanut butter cup and especially loved banana nut bread, she loved to go out to eat with family, especially to her favorite restaurant Medrano’s, and ordering her favorite meal Enchilada’s rice and beans. She loved going to the movies and watching all the new movies and ordering popcorn, specially making sure she always had some to bring home. Carrie Ortega will truly be missed with her great sense of humor and her jokester personality she always brought a smile to somebody’s day. She was taken too soon, and we will never fully recover but it brings us peace that she is no longer in pain and is finally reunited with her husband, Parents, and Nephew. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024, at Calvary Chapel in Palmdale, Ca.
