Obituary of James Lee Kellogg

James Lee Kellogg. 86, (Nov. 7, 1936 - Sept. 11, 2023) passed away early on Monday, September 11, 2023 at his home of 40 years in Palmdale CA. from complications related to cancer. A native of Aurora Illinois, Jim served his Country for 60 years. Joining the US Navy in 1958 where he served in Vietnam. After 24 years in the military he continued his service in civilian life, in defense of the Nation until his retirement in 2013. A strong Patriarch, He was a devout and loving husband for 63 years having married his adoring wife Carol, in 1960 He is survived by his wife Carol, his Son James and Daughters Karen, Kelli, and Kimberly. Having suffered the loss of his youngest Son, John in 2008, and his Grandchild Shannon in 2022, He was faced with a cancer diagnosis in 2022 which he faced with grace and dignity for the last 14 months. His legacy will continue through his remaining 4 Children as well as his 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great-GrandChildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild with his life spanning 5 generations. Jim was an avid reader and enjoyed Fantasy & Science Fiction, American history, Exploring the family lineage, and spending time with his family. His early life was spent working with Arabian Horses, a passion he never lost. As his Family was with Jim until his passing, no viewing will be scheduled. Burial and Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Desert Lawn Cemetery at 2200 E. Avenue S in Palmdale.
