Andrew Stephen Weddle Obituary

Andrew Stephen ‘Andy’ Weddle, 37, of Santa Clarita, CA passed away Monday, April 13, 2026. He was born February 11, 1989 in Frederick, MD.

Andy's early life was filled with time spent with family at amusement parks, Ocean City, MD and baseball and hockey games. This began his life long love of the Baltimore Orioles baseball and Washington Capitals hockey teams. Although he developed his photography skills later in life, it all started with a high school photography class photo shoot of his brother. Andy went on to graduate from Brunswick High School in 2007. Andy attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and received a Bachelors of Science in Aeronautical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in 2010 and a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering in 2012. After college, he spent his career working in Aerospace at Boeing, Scaled, and Virgin Galactic. Andy shared his passion for airplanes through volunteering for first robotics & kept up with his favorite sport by playing ice hockey.

Trips to a rock climbing gym in Santa Clarita, CA led to a marriage to his wife, Becky, full of love and adventure. Together they enjoyed visiting national parks, skiing, hiking, backpacking, climbing, mountain biking, playing board games, gardening, and spending time with family. Andy documented their love and adventures through the lens of his camera.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Irene ‘Becky’ Brown of Santa Clarita, CA, mother Phyllis Weddle and brother Casey 'Poodle' Weddle of Knoxville, MD, sister Melanie Weddle of Frederick, MD, and many other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles ‘Eddie’ Weddle and his sister Kristen Leigh Shaner.

The family will gather privately to celebrate his life. At a later date, we will all celebrate him as he goes on the ride of a lifetime to space (details to follow).

Go out there and “do what you want” - don’t let yourself or anything else hold you back.
