Garrett Herbert Newman, age 71, of Rosamond, California, passed away on February 18, 2026. He was born on June 30, 1954, in Galax, Virginia, to Shirleen (deceased) and Carlton Newman (deceased). Garrett will be remembered for his loving kind heart, humor, and dedication to always helping others, even without being asked. Garrett also honorably served his country for 30 years active-duty Air Force retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. Everyone that knew him knew of his passion for building beautiful cars and his love for golf. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Newman; his two sons, James (Vera) Newman and Johnathan (Lidija) Newman; his four grandchildren Merissa Newman, Trinitie Newman, Liam Newman and Marlo Newman; his five Siblings Carlton (Andrea) Newman, Debra Newman, Gloria Johnson, Charles (Phyllis) Newman, and Milton Newman (deceased).
