Garrett would have been so very grateful and proud of his wife and sons (wives) and Granddaughters for a beautiful memorial service. Me as his sister was grateful for all the kind and wonderful memories of Garrett.

It is with sadness that I say goodbye to my dear cousin. The memories of us growing up are more that of siblings than cousins. I so wanted to be with my family today. However, life does not permit. Family, God is only a prayer away. Allow Him to comfort you and keep you. He is there for you to lean on. May the Lord cover each of you and hide you in the shelter of His wings as you endure this part of life. Garrett lived to live again. He left a roadmap for us to follow. I'm so sad to hear about Garrett's passing. I worked with Garrett at Bombers for many years both when he was enlisted and as a contractor after he retired. He always had a smile on his face! I just remember him being so calm but was also funny and would talk about his family often... I also knew Jo from my CSC days. Sending prayers and my sincere condolences to the Newman family.
