Dwayne Scott Shaughnessy, 57, passed away on November 23, 2025, at Kaiser Sunset Hospital in Los Angeles, California, surrounded by love.

Born in Long Beach, California, Dwayne built a life full of love, generosity, and quiet strength. He is survived by his wife, Dannon Shaughnessy, their five children — Shane, William (Scott), Kaitlynn, Kayla, and Kassie — his mother, Joan; sister, Sheila; niece, Kimberly; nephew, Christopher; uncle, Steve; and four grandchildren, Hudson, Harmony, Camden, and Dwayne.

Dwayne had a lifelong passion for computers, technology, and science fiction, often cheering for the bad guys and especially loving his favorite character, Darth Vader. He also developed a deep love for his cats.

A devoted father and grandfather, Dwayne attended every event possible, creating countless joyful memories. He was active in his community and was generous with his time and knowledge.

Known for his warmth, humor, and kindness, Dwayne could make everyone feel welcome and valued. Even through serious health challenges, he faced life with faith, gratitude, and strength. He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion, playful spirit, and the extraordinary love he shared with family and friends.
