In Loving Memory of Freddie M. Ford-Travis

Freddie M. Ford-Travis passed away peacefully in her home in Lancaster, California, on the morning of August 3rd at 3:50 AM.

Born in Keiser, Arkansas, Freddie was the youngest child of Lillie and Charlie Ford. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings—12 maternal and 13 paternal—making her the last beloved child of the Ford family. As the youngest, she held a unique place in the family, often lovingly referred to as “Aunt Freddie” by nieces and nephews who were sometimes older than she was.

Freddie was a devoted Christian whose faith guided her life. She cherished her family deeply and was known for her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. A lifelong learner, Freddie pursued degrees and certifications beginning in her late forties, embodying the spirit of perseverance and curiosity.

Her love for music was profound. She began singing in her church choir and later joined a traveling chorus, sharing her voice and joy wherever she went. Freddie appreciated all genres of music and often joked that Ice Cube was her soul mate—a testament to her vibrant personality and sense of humor.

She was the proud mother of four children:

To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “Ahdah” (pronounced Aaaahhhh daaa) and simply “Grandmother.” Her love for them was boundless, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

One thing is certain—she is deeply loved.
