In Loving Memory of Sherry L. Lefevre Payne (Grandma Bear)

May 9, 1951 – March 6, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sherry L. Lefevre Payne, who joined our Heavenly Father on March 6, 2025. Sherry was born on May 9, 1951, to Alice Adams Wilkins and Franklin LeFevre.

In November 1969, Sherry married Jim Payne, and together they had two children, James Payne and Jennifer Payne Wilson. Though Sherry and Jim later divorced, she continued to share her life with many loving family members and friends.

Sherry had a passion for camping, fishing, and woodworking, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children:

• James Payne (Avery Payne)

• Jennifer Payne Wilson (James Wilson)

Her beloved grandchildren:

• Jaren Wilson (Sam Wilson)

• Jordan Wilson (Paige Callas)

• Jalyssa Wilson

• Ronald Freeman

• Logan Gray

• Alexis Gray

• And many others who lovingly called her “Grandma Bear.”

Her great-grandchildren:

• Korra Wilson

• Jayden Wilson

• Sienna Callas

She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Dortha Mortensen, along with many more cherished friends and family.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Dee LeFevre and Bill LeFevre; and her dear friend Carma Moffett.

Services to honor Sherry’s life will be held on March 21, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Valley of Peace, 44901 10th Street West, Lancaster, California 93535.

Sherry’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
